As the leaves fall from the trees and the frost hits the north country our scenes turn more monochromatic. There is a peace in the simplicity of the winter landscape… Soothing browns, golds, whites combined with the blue of the sky or layers of gray clouds. Once the snow flies and the snow geese leave us everything becomes more quiet.

Just two weeks ago autumn was in it’s final throes here – the loud cry of the leaves was irresistible! These photos were taken at the Jardin Botanique on what I am calling ‘the day of the fox’… The wonderful day I met my fox spirit outside the First Nations garden. He makes an appearance here – along with a chilly and slow-moving koi fish.
