For in the immediate world, everything is to be discerned… without either dissection into science, or digestion into art, but with the whole of consciousness, seeking to perceive it as it stands: so that the aspect of a street in sunlight can roar in the heart of itself as a symphony, perhaps as no symphony can: and all of consciousness is shifted… to the effort to perceive simply the cruel radiance of what is.

You don’t make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.
As an expression of my love of the processes and transformative power of creating art I have enjoyed teaching and sharing my knowledge with young and old. Over the years I have trained myself to teach other artists and aim to inspire others to discover the creativity innate in themselves. I am a practicing artist who has expanded my art making beyond the studio into participatory engagement with different people in different settings. I lead young people and adults in creative experiences that deepen their understanding and engagement with the world around them and with their own creative fire.
I create my own unique Place-Based art – translating my flashes of wonder and impressions of a place onto the printed page through the laborious and time-consuming ancient technique of relief printing.

To quote John Denver–“Far Out!” The scenery photos are wonderful as always, but the critter snaps are truly special–a window into their worlds.k Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Ma’am! we’re psyched the pics have touched your heart… & yes, Ray is basically just a ringer no matter how one portrays him. Hope you’re both doing well – sending hugs >>> your way, love S.

Hello from the Black Hills. We are spending a week here with two of our grandchildren 10 and 11. The eyes they see the world through are sure different from what I see. Sometimes I envy them and their innocence. Great to hear from you. I am on my phone with its limitations but will look at the photos when we get home. Best wishes, Ray
What a pleasure that you can share these amazing pictures of nature. The photos are so good it makes it easier to imagine being there and seeing them
